The Caterpillar Trip - June 27th

What: Paddled about five miles up Pellicer Creek from Faver Dykes State Park, took cover under I-95 to avoid being fried by frighteningly powerful lightning strikes, and ducky surfed off Crescent Beach. But all of this paled in comparison to the Hickory Horned Devil caterpillar we spotted on a branch overhanging a tiny, overgrown stretch of the upper end of the river. This thing was roughly the size of a small dog and looked quite capable of devouring your soul.

Costs:
Gas: $6
Bogo milkshake: $1.25
