Canoeing and Duckeying on the Chassahowitzka

Put-in: Chassahowitzka Campground, $2/car parking fee, about 2 hours from Gainesville

Take-out: Same

Points of Interest: 1. About a 100 yards from the ramp are a series of spring vents that are connected by underwater tunnels. These are filled with fish and lined with neat rock formations. Swimming from one to the next takes about 10 seconds and is probably one of the coolest things you'll ever do.
2. The Crack is a deep, narrow spring-fed crevice with a rope swing and plentiful primitive camping - watch out for bugs.
3. Potter creek supposedly has some very nice scenery but it was 2 miles from the put-in and only one boat made it that far.

Scenery: Much of the river is clear and is frequented by manatees and scores of fish. Traffic can be a bit high in parts.
