Backpacking Jack's River, June 19th-20th, 2010

What: Hiking along Jack's River in the Chatahoochee National Forest. Extremely scenic with 42-(ankle deep or deeper)-river crossings.

Start: Eastern trailhead - in national forest near Blue Ridge, GA.

Finish: Western trailhead - near Cisco, GA on TN border. Driving one-way between the start and finish is about 25 miles and two hours. A loop would probably be better.

Camping: Neither of our campsites turned out to be entirely legal, but you can camp anywhere in the forest aside from a few very convenient, very campsite-like spots.

Hiking: All downhill - would be really easy if it weren't for the tricky crossings every five minutes. Sandals with socks seem to be the best choice of footwear.

Costs (per person):
Gas: $26
Ethiopian food: $9
Korean food: $10

Trip Members: Jeff, Jim, Andy, Randy, Kami, Carrie, Rob and Cat
