Spring Break in Peru - March 4th-13th, 2011
Schedule
Friday: Headed to Miami, walked downtown and did yoga on South Beach at 2am. Went to airport at 3 to catch flight
Saturday: Flew to Colombia, some exited airport and drove around Bogota with family members. Flew to Lima and did some salsa dancing
Sunday: Visited Plaza de Armas and Presidential Palace, took 24 hour bus to Cuzco
Monday: Explored Cuzco and went salsa dancing
Tuesday: Traveled to ruins around Cuzco. Some took ruins tour, others walked around mountains outside Cuzco and went horseback riding. Caught late train to Aguas Calientes.
Wednesday: Hiked to Machu Picchu and explored. Returned to Aguas Calientes and took late train back to Cuzco. Got on a 9-hour bus to Arequipa.
Thursday: Arrived in Arequipa, settled in and explored
Friday: Day trip to nearby volcano, mountain biked down
Saturday: Shopped Arequipa markets, one member traveled to see condors nearby. $70 flight back to Lima. Stayed in town until 3am awaiting morning flight back to Miami.
Sunday: Drove back to Gainesville wtih a stop at West Palm Beach for body surfing
