Description: Rocktown has tons of huge sandstone boulders covered in great holds. It is located in the Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area which is also home to many exciting caves (consult your local branch of NSS for access). There is free primitive camping. A ranger station at the entrance provides excellent maps of the area and possibly drinkable water.
Directions: Take Highway 193 west from La Fayette and when you see Uncle Jed's gas station on the right, turn left on Chamberlain Rd. Go about 3 miles on Chamberlain and take a right on Rocky Ln. into the WMA. Pick up a map at the ranger station. Drive about 4 miles (parts unpaved) to the top of the mountain and take a left on Rock Town Rd. Hike about 1 mile from the parking area to the rocks.
