Scalloping at Steinhatchee, September 7th, 2008
Steinhatchee is about 1.5 hours from Gainesville and the Cow Creek bridge where we put in is about 15 minutes south of that. From the bridge, it's about 2.5 miles to where the boats anchor. With 15 people, we caught about 300 scallops in 2 hours. Sea Hag Marina (in Steinhatchee, just follow the signs) has a great fish cleaning counter and everything you need for a scalloping excursion.
